The committees’ purpose is to deal with any ongoing issues that are or may be affected by the collective agreement. Meetings may vary based on unit requirements.  Committee membership is determined by their Collective Agreement.

JJEC (Joint Job Evaluation Committee)

These joint CUPE – employer committees evaluate job descriptions and recommend changes for new jobs or new postings. Each unit may have different review processes. CNC and PGPL are currently the only units with JJEC Committees.

Bylaw Committee

This committee will review the Local bylaws annually and make recommendations to the Executive Board on proposed amendments; verify that proposed amendments conform to the remainder of the bylaws and the CUPE Constitution; and ensure that bylaws are written in clear language, checking that clear language does not change the intent or meaning of the bylaws. The Local’s National Representative shall be a non-voting member of the committee consulted during the review process.

Occupational Health and Safety

This joint committee’s function is to monitor and recommend improvements and changes that adhere to health and safety in our workplace, and to ensure that mandatory standards are maintained.

Professional Development
